PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
L.E. Peabody & Associates, Inc. (Since 2022) -- Ms. Shuler provides analytical and research support to L.E. Peabody & Associates, Inc.’s clients.
Ms. Shuler reviewed and summarized Surface Transportation Board (“STB”) requests and applicant responses that were part of the STB's Office of Environmental Analysis environmental impact statements.
Ms. Shuler participates in the development of discovery logs that are used for evaluation and processing information filed in STB proceedings.
Ms. Shuler compiles, evaluates, and summarizes public and confidential data for railroad negotiation projects.
Ms. Shuler reviews previous STB proceedings related to maximum rail rates for rail shippers in order to prepare for future negotiations or cases.
Previous Related Experience - During her senior year at the University of South Carolina, Ms. Shuler partnered with her Urban Economics professor as a Research Assistant. Her research was concentrated on Bavarian Motor Works’ (“BMW”) impact on the upstate South Carolina economy. At the University of South Carolina, Ms. Shuler took specialized economic coursework involving macro and microeconomic analyses.
During her final semester, Ms. Shuler wrote a 50-page thesis titled “What is the Belt and Road?” Her thesis addressed China’s rapid international infrastructure development and investment, with a focus on port and rail infrastructure.
In the Spring of 2021, Ms. Shuler participated in the South Carolina Honors College Washington D.C. Semester Program where she interned for the House of Representatives. Ms. Shuler has a work history in Sales Operations and Purchasing, Economic Analysis, and Research.
EDUCATION:
Ms. Shuler received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance (with a minor in Political Science) from the University of South Carolina in 2022 and is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College.
