Among our major clients, L. E. Peabody & Associates, Inc. serves electric utilities, fuel producers and other firms that transport and consume a variety of fuels. For these clients, the Firm analyzes fuel production costs and the determination of the relationship of such costs to market prices and existing fuel supply agreements. We also focus on the interrelationships among fuel supply, fuel transportation and related equipment and infrastructure needs to improve our clients' position within power production markets.

The Firm has been involved in the negotiation of fuel supply or transportation contracts for over sixty utilities, which burn coal, lignite or natural gas produced in every producing area in the United States. As a result of assisting coal, lignite and natural gas users in the eastern and western regions of the United States, the Firm has become familiar with the operating, costing, and pricing practices of the rail carriers and pipeline companies moving coal, lignite and natural gas over the major routes in the United States.
