L. E. Peabody & Associates, Inc. was founded in 1956 when Dr. Ford K. Edwards, a preeminent economic expert in transportation cost accounting, established the firm of Ford K. Edwards. In 1959, Dr. Edwards formed the partnership of Edwards & Peabody with Leroy E. Peabody, Jr. For six years, the partnership performed economic analyses and provided expert testimony on a wide range of railroad freight and passenger issues. With the retirement of Dr. Edwards in 1965, L. E. Peabody & Associates, Inc. was founded.

From its early emphasis on transportation economics and operations during the decade of the 1950's, L. E. Peabody & Associates, Inc. has evolved into a firm that is highly experienced in the many aspects of rail, motor, pipeline and water transportation, and the interaction of these various forms of transportation with the supply, availability and production costs of numerous industries. We also have developed a depth of knowledge on a myriad of non-transportation economic issues. These include, for example, forecasting, fuels procurement, management planning and organization structures, and information systems development.

Our personnel have earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in economics, finance, mathematics, accounting, engineering, business administration, government, computer science and operations research. In addition, L. E. Peabody & Associates, Inc. works closely with prominent members of the academic, business, and legal communities in utilizing supplemental expertise where required.
